J&J Skins by Alinee Jewell

I promised I wouldn't ruin a new skin designer's day today, but this needs to be said. For $1500L per skin, I expect a nearly flawless skin. In my opinion, these skins from J&J Skins are incomplete and sloppy.

The images below are of skins from the "Pupa natural" tone at J&J Skins by Alinee Jewell.

I tried it on, and the face is cute... but THEN....

I noticed a massive seam line on the neck (even when the skin is fully rezzed)

And the ears!! Cut & Paste art!!

and Omg? 5 o'clock shadow surrounding the lips.

More seams on the legs

Really really really really bad eye makeup.

Sloppy beauty mark

The skin tone on the head & body does not match O.O

I'm pretty speechless --- is my sl client messing with me, or are these skins truly that terrible?

I.Love.Hair - Magika!!!

Magika has the brightest shade of platinum blonde ever!!! <33333 I prefer shopping at hair places with nice platinum blonde textures -- ETD, Magika, Celestial Studios. For example, I am still waiting for Kin hair to have platinum blonde textures because the styles are really cute there, for now I'll settle for Kin's version of blonde or white -- but Kin Keiko, I am still waiting for platinum blonde!! :P

Beauty Avatar or Minnu?

I went to Vanity Universe again to check out if there are any new skins at Skin Fair, there was! Well, I found one freebie skin from Beauty Avatar, whom I've never heard of before.

(this is located in a kiosk directly across from Gala skins)

It's actually pretty decent, reminds me a lot of Minnu's MMSNF skinline.

I think your money is better spent on Minnu, because the makeups on Beauty Avatar skins are completely weird!! Yes, I know some people like lace and all that... but this looks like a child had access to Photoshop and cut and pasted a bunch of lace, pixelated gemstones, and fuzzy black dots onto the face. Artistic, or child art? You decide.

Token Freebies

Olivia Connaught over at Free*Style blogged a lovely freebie outfit from the Token sim, so I had to go check it out. There are a bunch of complete outfits at this sim, including shoes!!

I don't know why there are so many fabulous outfits at this Token sim, but it kiiiiiiicks butt!!! If you have a job that requires wearing business attire (land baron? csr? fake ceo?), there are lots of pieces in these that will mix-and-match with other items in your inventory for a posh look.

Schadenfreude just released some new goodies, which includes a lolita dress!! This is the Ghost Revenant Dress, and it comes in a bunch of layers & options and TINTABLE laces the corset!!<33

This Crimson Geraldine dress is perfect with Berlin hair from CAKE.

This Revenant Suit reminds me of a ringmaster, perfect for cracking the whip in your daily Slife :P

Grid Wide Egg Hunt!

Every holiday in SL has pretty much become free gifts overload. We're totally spoiled by fantastic designers and I love it!!!!!!!! I started out my grid wide egg hunt at Canimal sim, but any other participating shop is a good starting point too.

Egg Hunting

You can be the envy of every child avatar on the grid with this awesome D!FF Polkadot Bra*d Cami. The girls at D!FF made this special Easter edition of their popular Bra*d Cami set -- it comes with a bra*d or bradless*d version if you don't mind a little bit of nips showing.

Also the sculpted Photon Pink Lucky Charms Bracelet & Necklace set goes perfectly with this cami. I feel like a rainbow exploded on me... <3

RFL: Awesome Designs

Julia Soothsayer of Awesome Designs created this amazing Petals In Pink & White gown just for RFL. The dress includes a short skirt and a long one, also comes with sculpted rose sleeves, and a rose hair accessory. This landmark will take you straight to Awesome Designs, when you land, take the right path straight into the pink shop.

And that's not all... there's 3 free animal prints dress just for Clothing Fair visitors. Normally I am not a fan of animal prints, but these totally work with my new Detour skin & hair, giving it a 60's looking flair.

Let's take a Detour

Yesterday I was perusing the Second Life official forums when I came across a post for new hair. I'm a total shopping addict always on the prowl for new stuff, so I immediately tp'ed to Detour island to check out hair by Keri Clip.

Check out the Junebug hair! It's adorable, I had to have it. This shop feels familiar.... these "new" designers have a distinctive style that I've always liked about FNKY Cake!

These amazing eyes set from Detour Sideways has all the elements I look for in SL eyes -- reflective, tiny pupils, expressive blues.

I'm a total skin addict, so when I saw that Keri Clip of Detour had created a whole line of skin with yummilicious makeups, I had to try them all.

Detour skins remind me sooo much of the lovely Jessica skinline from CAKE. When I tried on a demo for Detour, I immediately thought of Stumbelina Ophelia's Cake skins.

Something about the freckles on this skin is mesmerizing..

RFL: Nyte 'N' Day

Nyte Caligari is awesome for releasing two cute RFL outfits in pink!

I love this Nyte 'N' Day - Love (RFL Special Edition) shorts & t-shirt set because of the booty shorts!! Booty shorts & pink? I couldn't resist and neither should you because 100% of the proceeds are donated to RFL.

And this outfit is the Nyte 'N' Day - Seraphic (RFL Special Edition). I have this in white, and it's great, so was really thrilled to see it recolored in pink just for RFL. The outfit comes with a bra, and sheer top that you can wear together, or separately. Such a great value for the price.

RFL: Wicked Merlot Latex & Lace

RFL Clothing Fair ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOCKS!!! I'm going to take it slow this week, and post my purchases a few at a time. It's pretty crazy, my inventory exploded for a great cause.

To start off, I'll feature something NOT purple :P I'm a huge fan of Lapointe & Bastchild Designs. I was very excited to see the "Wicked Merlot" Latex & Lace Dress as a RFL item. Normally this set goes for $900L, but it's only $500L inside the RFL vendor. This outfit comes with 4 slightly different corsets, 4 mini skirts, a pair of lace stockings, garters, 2 system skirt options, and sheer panties. <3333 I like latex when it's done right, and this outfit is pure sexy....

And that's not all... Lapointe & Bastchild Designs have just constructed a really great FREE SHOP, everything there is $0L!! Pictured below are some goodies that can be found at the free shop:

Nissa Nightfire, who has a lovely blog but can't seem to get Tao Takashi to add her on the feed asked me today what happened to iheartsl.com. Since we're no longer syndicating, I thought it would be nice to do a group blog. It's open to anyone who wants to blog SL-related content, so just leave your email and I will send an invite :)

Stiletto Moody or.. Sasawe Capalini?

Sasawe Capalini, one of the creators of Stiletto Moody shoes has decided to sell them under his own label. I guess this is what happens when sweatshop designers feel that they have not been compensated properly. These shoe are identical to the ones sold at Stiletto Moody, but are priced cheaper and with a different label.

This situation totally confuses me! The facts are:

1. Stiletto Moody contracted Sasawe Capalini to create shoes for her label.
2. It's perfectly within his right to resell these under his own label because... HE MADE THEM. Unless they have a contract stating otherwise.
3. They're both ripping off Christian Louboutin designs.

I wonder if we will be seeing more shoes from Sasawe Capalini -- perhaps the same exact ones produced for Stiletto Moody shoes but cheaper?

Posh Housewife

It's almost Spring and spring means flower patterns galore!!! I went to artilleri and bought the Carrie dress because it's totally spring-y and retrolicious. I feel like a posh retro housewife now. The artilleri Lovely Lily hair flower is sooo cute! It changes textures on touch, and includes 2 different shades of pink -- pink and hot pink! <3

Skins & Shapes, Oh My!!

Yay freebie skins! I love love love love skins. I wish these were available when I was newbie, because I've spent so much money on skins that aren't nearly this nice..!!

Rosemary Galbraith is generously giving away a freebie pack containing 12 skins @ her shop Rosemar. HURRYYY.. These are hot! I love that there's a variety of skin tones in the pack, so there's something for every preference. The goth one is yummilicious. The Precious Grandeur dress in green is on sale for $100L at Nicky Ree's main shop in Tropical Orchid, but only for group members, so remember to wear your group tag.

The necklace I'm wearing is part of the Marissa Pink Pearl set available at KessKreations. I haven't found pink pearls anywhere in SL but here, and the necklace is scripted to change metals and gemstones. And you know I looooove my jewelry scripted!

My outfit today is inspired by The Tudors! This show is so sexy and smart, I'm completely enamored by it. What I'm wearing is the Chimera gown by Evie's Closet. It's so shimmery and beautiful, just perfect for an English lady or the King's mistress :P
