Paint SL Purple Day!

June 1st is Paint SL Purple Day to show support for the fight against cancer. I have decided to put together two outfits early, incase anybody wants ideas on what to wear. You don't have to dress head-to-toe in Purple (unless you really want to), just a little Purple goes a long way.

Kira Ahn & BAX

I'm surprised the Gossipgirl sims are still in SL, but they are! Today I took a stroll around the city for my blog photos, and broke into a few posh Upper Eastside apartments too. I have no idea what a 'Gossipgirl' wears, since I've never seen a full episode of the show, so I'm going to show you what Gogo might wear in the city :D

Kira Ahn recently released the adorable Ceran dress, yes it IS a dress!! I love Kira so much for making dresses that would barely pass as a long t-shirt. I'm pairing it with sexy white Yozo boots from Sweetest Goodbye and Bax 'Nathalie' hair.

You didn't know that BAX made hair, did you? This is the Nathalie style and it includes a color-changing headband, and you can change the color of the sparkling diamonds too. I love how the bangs are done on this hairstyle.

I have no idea whose apartment this was, but it had gorgeous artwork and decor. Kira Ahn's 'Indian' dress is like a piece of abstart art, it's so colorful and have bright triangular shapes. This dress will be released tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Say... Aaaaahhh....

Last year I did a quick "how to emote in Second Life" tutorial, and I still see a lot of people searching for that entry so I thought I would mention it again today.

It's been several years since I've joined SL and we still don't have new facial expressions, what's up with that? Why can't we have emotions that DO NOT SUCK. For example, I just want to smile or frown while having my avatar's eyes relaxed and not exaggerated into ugly expressions. Is that too much to ask for?

How to emote:

1. Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+D, to bring up the Advanced client menu
2. Go to Advanced -> Character -> Slow Motion Animations and click to enable it
(Slow Motion Animations is a feature that slows down animations on your client only, so others will not see this but it is useful when trying to capture dances, emotes, poses, etc.)
*note: Don't forget to uncheck Slow Motion Animations once you're done using it, otherwise animations will look too slow on your client.)

3. Play with the random expressions on the Emoter and snap away!!

My favorite emoters are built into the Mysti-Tool HUD by Mystical Cookie.

These are fun to play with but I still think there should be a way for residents to make our own or at least have more control over the facial expressions.

New Exile Hair

Exile has just released two new hairstyles, the Ciara style has a side-braid and perfect for adding hair flowers or other hair accessories to it. Megan is a casual updo with a scarf wrapped around the hair and tied into a bow on the side. The scarf is texture-changeable and includes 6 Spring-y colors!

Tekuteku & Kunglers New Stuff!!

I went to Tekuteku this morning and the new build is totally awesome!! They have added a ton of new hairstyles, I had a small hairgasm moment. There seems to be new textures too, which I'm super thrilled about since there's a wider range than before. Tekuteku hair is still 'no mod' but has a built-in resizer script. I'm not a huge fan of that, but thankfully it worked for me so I won't have to bitch about how much no mod hair sucks.

Kungler's has just released some new clothes and there's a wide range of items released this time. From dresses, to bikinis and some gorgeous tops. I'm thrilled they released a bunch of pink & white items. <3 I'll just let the pictures do teh talking, they're fabulousss....

Albero Accessory Fair

The Albero mall is having an Accessory Fair and there are tons of goodies and items marked down 25-50% off just for the event. I love a small themed fair, it makes shopping super fun and not overwhelming at all. I had no idea what I was looking for, but somehow my inventory exploded with all kinds of goodies. :P

[ NODe - Umbrella_v2_N08; $550L ]

This umbrella is to die for!! The NODe Umbrella have 2 built-in poses, 5 textures ( Patchwork, Apple, Retro, Polka dot, and Paisley), open & close version, and animated rain! I don't know why but I found the built-in rain very exciting... and it's not like other rain, there are actual raindrops textures sliding off the top of the umbrella. You can't see it in my picture, but it's stunning in person. There's a demo available @ the fair.

I found this cheapie Tarnished 'Rozen Maiden Headdress' for $10L and a free Cube Sugar 'Eco Bag', they go so well together. I found a few freebies at the fair ~ I don't think I went through the whole fair so there might be other hidden gems available.

Wild O is one of my favorite hat/flower acessories shop and I was sooo happy to find a Cream colored Bouquet Hat for $100L there. This hat comes in two versions, large and small ~ I'm wearing the large version her and I really like it.

I'm wearing the Elate! 'Eve' dress in Terra Cotta, Sky, Chocolate and Lime. There are more colors available at the main store.

Playing House

Like many other SL residents, I have an SL home that I like to decorate and spend a lot of time looking for items to make it homey and comfortable.

Despite what everybody thinks, my home is not all pink! I share the island with Davo so I try to use neutral colors but it's still very very girlie. I'm not into ultra modern decor (it's too cold), so the pieces I like are a mix of old-world and shabby chic, each room is different from the next. I buy complete sets of furniture, as well as single items and even make use of really good freebies.

One of these days when I've cleaned up the rest of my island, I'll show you more!

Plastik & Haunted Zuzu

Plastik has just released the Aishalune mini dresses, they're sexy and have great lace trimmings and brocade textures. These dresses go great with heel-less Vicky boots from MStyle. The Vicky boots are free on XStreetSL, so get yours while they're available!

Rather than a traditional necklace, I'm wearing this cute new release from Haunted Zuzu. The Asian Flower Necklace is color changeable, you can change the center, inner petals and outer petals with a dozen color presets.

Sparkle Skye - Twilight FlowerGirl Dress

Sparkle Skye has just released the FlowerGirl Dress and it is adorable!! I had to dust off my Kid Gogo shape to show you this cute little poofy dress, perfect for all the weddings in SL. This includes several different skirt versions and lengths, along with matching White Lacey socks and Ballet Flat with roses.

Making a kid shape is tricky, since the SL avatar mesh is terrible and I couldn't get rid of the boobs or make my avatar as petite as I wanted to without looking totally out of proportion. If anyone has tips for a great kid shape, I would love to hear it! :)

Amerie's Naughty

Amerie's Naughty has released some smexxy new bikinis and omg I can't get enough of them!! I'm wearing the Naughty bikini in Green, and Halter-Neck bikini in Pink. There are loads more prints & colors available, but these two are my favorites.. for now!

I'm wearing the realistic SLink Barefoot, they're perfect for the beach and totally easy to match with my skintone. I really like that they're resizable too, so my feet are proportional to my legs.

Shown above are Pale, Fair and Sunkissed skin tone, they're all lovely but I can't decide which works best with Blonde hair. I think Fair might be my favorite one for Blonde hair, but I also like Sunkissed since it's Summer! These come in Blonde, Brown, Black, and Red brows, but I hardly ever wear Blonde brows with Blonde hair, since it washes out the entire face, unless the skin tone is very light. I think these work best with Brown brows, everything matches so well ~ I could switch to a different shade of blonde? But I totally dread having to modify an entirely new hair color.

Katat0nik has released cheery new Ladybugged Dresses. There are cute ladybugs printed on everything, so if you love these little adorable harmless bugs, the dress is a total must have.  Shown above is Pink and Lt Green, but the Ladybugged Dresses also comes in black, white, lt orange, lt yellow, lt blue, and lavender.

SWA has just released the May Fae Jewelry set and it is stunning. Each set includes a necklace, charm bracelet, and matching earrings. I tiny golden fairy is sculpted, and completely amazing up-close.. I can't get enough of it.

Sweetest Goodbye Yozo

Sweetest Goodbye has just released the ultra sexy Yozo outfit that includes a beautiful large sculpted. The hat has a fishnet veil in the front and a matching feather on the side. The whole outfit is so daring, I love how it's revealing but not 'slutty' since it doesn't show anything.

If white isn't your thing, the Yozo outfit also comes in Black, Red, and Navy! There are matching sculpted boots for each color. I looove these sculpted boots, they're great for pairing with other outfits, too.

Bag Lady

Bag Lady has these gorgeous 'rl inspired' designer handbags & backpacks. I thought it was pretty well made and would be a fun addition to anybody's wardrobe. There are a few things that I would have liked to change, like the ability to turn off bling scripts (I was able to remove this manually on some modifiable bags), and all bags should be copy/mod or mod/no trans. The permissions are inconsistent, so when you're buying a back pack, clutch, or booty bag, please make sure it is the perm you'll be comfortable with.

This is the Louis Vuitton inspired "Cherry Blossom" print back pack that I spent at least 30 minutes killing various bling scripts inside the metals. This bag is modifiable ~ but some in this series are not (like the LV Clutch).

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day to all Americans. I woke up to the sweet smell of BBQ wafting through my window, so I've decided to blog today's entry in front my SL BBQ set. Cheesy or cute? :P

Truth has just released two new hairstyles, the Minx and Minx 2 are similar but have different lengths. I looove Minx, the longer version of the two and so sexy/casual looking.

BBQ and Gingham print goes together like... ice cream and cake. I have decided to wear the fabulous artilleri Beatrix top with some Drawmachine hot pants or as I like to call them, booty shorts!!! <3

Fishy Strawberry

Fishy Strawberry has just released some sweet bra & panties set with a great cut and lots of colors & patterns to choose from. I'm wearing the Laundry Day Sweet, Laundry Day Navy and Summer Garden Blue set.

The panties are a really nice shape and the bra top has great 'sports bra' style straps.

The Fishy Strawberry Swan Lake outfit tutu outfit can be worn all together or as a very sexy leotard. This outfit includes a prim tutu skirt, leotard, and shrug.

If you want a little more coverage, the matching Swan Lake Leggings includes the modest Classic version, Fishnet, and Ripped Fishnet.

New Exile Hair

Exile has just released the Janine hairstyle, a short bob with soft wispy layers that curl outwards. I'm wearing the hair in Harlow and Ash color, both available in the Blondes pack. This hair is short & sexy and perfect for halter dresses.

I am wearing HUCCI's newest release, the Heather Collection dress which can be worn as a short dress or short pants (prim shorts cuffs included), and has two prim beaded halter straps in gold or silver version.

Chikka & SLink

I saw this great Chikka Design "Star Dress" this morning and I looooved the cleavage. I'm pairing this very short dress (if you can call it a dress, it's more like a long sexy tank top) with some gorgeous white leggings from MALT Fashions. I bought the pink knowing it would match with these gorgeous new SLink Buckled Wedge Heel in Rose Quartz color.

The SLink Buckled Wedge Heel has thick velvet straps, texture-changing metallic buckles and all the essential options built into the OmniHUD are included (skin-tone matching, resizing, nail colors, toe rings, etc.)
