Need 4 Speed

Need 4 Speed has an amazing selection of sculpted sports cars and they come fully loaded with tons of features and customization options. SL ate my "vehicles" folder awhile back, so I lost my pink sports car but now I have a brand new one! Well, two actually, as of this morning :D Thanks to Need 4 Speed for being thoughtful enough to include a color-changing option in their list of features, so you're not stuck with just one color, but can choose from a variety of colors with each car.

This is the Need 4 Speed Diablo, which seats 1 driver and 1 passenger.

Check out this list of features! I don't know much about cars IRL, but this long list of features is impressive for a virtual car, that any car lover would apprecaite.

These articles are being passed around amongst people on my Plurk timeline, and even though I'm not an Aussie I'm still shocked. I hope this is isn't true! It's alarming, it's strange. Censoring SL is like censoring the internet. Let people decide for themselves?

I did web stuffs last night!

Avanista.com got a face lift last night because I was bored! Hopefully you guys like this sleek new layout more since it focuses on the entries and not the giant rainbow banner like before.

I've often wondered who reads my blog since about 1% of the people ever leave a comment. Who are youuuuuu? My biggest day this week was Tuesday, with 1476 page views! According to my average views that's around 34,000 views month!

iheartsl.com does really well with 60,000+ views month, and that number has grown steadily since the beginning of the blog.

I know these are relatively modest numbers compared to other blogs out there, but I'm happy with them! :)

How to Enable Shadows on the SL 1.23 Release Client

The awesome Jenny Thielt wrote instructions on how to enable dynamic shadows on the Second Life 1.23 Release Viewer (re-posted here with permission):

Enabling Dynamic Shadows on the 1.23 Release Viewer and any viewer based on the 1.23 version.

Make sure you have a DirectX 10 compatible card (eg. nVidia 8 series or newer)

1. Make sure Atmospheric Shaders is on (windlight pretty skies and clouds)

2. Open the Advanced menu (if you dont have it yet press ctrl+alt+d)

3. Go to Debug Settings...

4. type renderuseFBO

5. Change value to TRUE

6. type renderdeferred

7. change value to true

8. Welcome to the world of dynamic shadows.

To disable dynamic shadows all you need to do is change the renderdeferred value back to false. (you can also change the renderuseFBO value to false too if you want)

Big Bad Blogger Challenge - Day 5

Well, this is my first BBBC and I may or may not do it again next year, depending on what my schedule is like. I thought some of the topics were fun, but since I'm already a daily blogger it didn't really push me to blog more often, which was the goal for some other people.

But I'm glad I stuck it through, been fun! I guess it was a nice change to not blog fashion all the time, but I don't really have much I want to blog about outside of fashion.

So today's topic is Blogger's Choice, this will be interesting! I know I rarely ever talk about my friends on this blog, so it seems like I don't have any, but I do and I adore them! I'm very protective of people I'm friends with, so I don't really like to name them cos I guess I'm one of those people that are uncomfortable talking about their friends because they're so dear to me. I know, I'm totally weird :D Anyways, I've decided to make a list of reasons why my friends are awesome:

1. I've been pissing them off since 2007 and we're still friends! (This applies to nearly everyone, lol)
2. They give me mod rights and don't mind if I move their stuff around or accidentally flatten their golf course (Sorry Ryan!)
3. I've landed on their "shitlist" at least once a month but they still love me (Wilma)
4. They're generous, kind, awesome, and very supportive of everything I do (All of you!)
5. They give me money even though I have more (LOL Davo <333333)
6. I can tell them anything because I know all their secrets too!!

I can't think of anything else right now, but even though I rarely ever mention you guys on my website or shower you with profile picks, you know who you are. :P

Big Bad Blogger Challenge - Day 2

Describe what your perfect Second Life day would be like. (Topic from BBBC09)

As cheesy as this may sound, I think that every day in Second Life IS a perfect day.

We truly have the power to make our Second Life experience rewarding and pleasurable, from the time we log in to the time we log off. I find it hard to be pissed off here, the weather is always perfect and my avatar has perfect hair ALL THE TIME.

I guess if you want me to name some specifics that makes me go 'weeeee!', it would be having one-on-one time with people I adore (they know who they are), a new hair/skin/shoes release from brands I like, and selling a lot of stuff and watching my Lindens balance climb. I'm easy to please! :P

Even though I'm the kid that can't play along or stick to other peoples rules, I have decided to participate in the Big Bad Blogger Challenge, where the lovely Alicia Chenaux can tell me what to blog for a whole week! Today's topic is:

How long have you been a blogger? How has it enriched your life?

I have been a blogger before it was called 'blogging' by the people who invented blogger.com! My blogger account dates back to 2001, when I use to write about real life things. Anyways, when I first joined SL it didn't even occur to me that people blogged about this game! I started my blog shortly after discovering FashionPlanet, so I could have a place to write about all the awesome clothes, hair, skin, shoes, etc, that I've found all over SL.

How has it enriched my life? If I wasn't blogging SL fashion daily, I don't think I would log in as much. My "job" in Second Life is a landlady and I have a shop but it's terribly dull chasing after rental boxes and making things (which I hardly make!). I love that through blogging I can share my discoveries and help people spend their Lindens faster! I've gotten a lot of encouragement and positive feedback from this site, except for the few anonymous commenters that tell me how much stuff I blog suck - you know who you are!! If I didn't piss somebody off, I would feel like I haven't been opinionated enough. Jk.. I welcome all comments and feedback, you guys make blogging a pleasure for me. :)

Home & Garden Expo Find

Home & Garden Expo ends tomorrow! I didn't go through all four sims, but I did find a couple of really cute trees for my garden. The most fantastic tree I have seen in awhile is this 'Natural Fantasies Midnight Fairyoak with sits' by Piedras Chama. This tree was sold inside an RFL vendor for $750L and is mod/copy. There are a few sit poses built-in, totally perfect for hanging with friends.

I think it's so funny when other sites use incomplete data to try and compare their rankings against my website. iheartsl.com was left off that chart, and the wrong url was given for JuicyBomb. I have never had content on JuicyBomb.com, I just use the domain to forward to either wordpress or typepad. My url is juicybomb.typepad.com, which for whatever reason, is not recognized with siteanalytics.compete.com.

However, I'm going to show you stats for sites that I was able to take screen shots of:

So when someone compares their entire FEED to my single site and get the url wrong in an attempt to sell more advertising, I have to question how they really stack up against their competitors. Buy ads where you want, but don't let misleading charts and graphics fool you. All stats are readily available and linked on their respective websites, if you want to click and check for yourself, which I highly encourage!

I woke up this morning to identical note cards sent by two people containing a chat log of two other people saying some very disturbing things. I don't know who the two people in this chat log are, but they sound like total assholes if they're willing to steal other peoples 'shapes' which are not easy to make but they're certainly not HARD with a little patience, anybody can make a decent one. If you want to run a shape business, make your own shapes.

ISSIGONIS FeiYan

So today I was finally able to go visit the Le Look sim, which I heard was suppose to be this posh new place to rent/have a shop/go shopping, etc!! When I got there the lag nearly killed me, and I was spammed with a ton of stuff! *hits IGNORE ALL immediately* But I heard that vendors there had to create 'Le Look exclusive items' so I braved the lag and found some amazingly cute stuff!

First up.. the ISSIGONIS 'FeiYan' skins! Miula Jun does wonderful work on the face and the body (check out the boobs, trust me). These skins are currently not available at the main store, I didn't see it there, so you'll have to find them at the Le Look sim for now.

Shown aboe is ISSIGONIS 'FeiYan' in medium skin tone. There are 4 makeups, each includes 2 diferrent brows (light/dark) and two different lip colors (nude/red).

I found the cutest nautical earrings at NoLabel to go with my UntoneQuit 'Charcoal sweatdress', an oldie but a favorite! I totally forgot I had this until I saw the nautical earrings today.

Random Kawaii Stuff

SELFISH is the shop that makes these adorable little 'CHUPA' pacifier things. They're diamond-encrusted! What's not to love? I'm not sure what to wear this with, but if it's perfectly acceptable to walk around the grid with food items attached to your mouth, then why not a pink diamond-encrusted pacifier?

The cute skin I'm wearing was purchased recently from the Heart of Love event, a quick charity event put together to help out a fellow sl-resident in need. The goal has been met, but these skins will be on sale for awhile longer with the proceeds going to RFL or some other charity. If you like this, don't wait! They might be gone forever. I'm wearing the Heart of Love skin modified by Antonia Marat (Miss Artilleri!).

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Pink Fuel! Aside from cute little plushies, Mochi has wearable accessories, such as this lacey heart eyepatch. I am wearing the Bare Rose 'House Call' outfit, one of my favorites!!
